Rodents
How many rats live in a nest?
Do not treat “one nest” as one rat. Commensal rats live in social groups. A burrow system or an attic can hold a breeding pair plus young. Counts vary with food. If you caught one, keep trapping and sealing until the runway goes quiet for days.
Why viral “12 rats per nest” posts fail
Internet count cards are not a census. Litter size, survival, and how many burrows share a dumpster all move. Your job is the runway map, not a trivia number. Place several rat-sized traps, take the food away, and close the ½-inch gaps.
