Pesticides

In the United States, the EPA-approved label is the law. If anything on this site appears to conflict with a label, follow the label. Do not mix products unless the labels allow it. Keep children, pets, and food away from applications. Store products locked. Never use outdoor products indoors. Cancelled or unregistered pesticides are not recommended.

Health

Rodents, ticks, mosquitoes, kissing bugs, and some wildlife can be involved in disease transmission. This site does not diagnose illness. Seek medical care for bites, unexplained fever after outdoor exposure, or pesticide poisoning. US poison control: 1-800-222-1222.

Wildlife and animal welfare

We describe control of pests that damage structures or threaten public health. We do not promote cruelty or gratuitous violence. Glue boards for vertebrates are restricted or discouraged in many places; exclusion and targeted trapping are preferred. Bats, migratory birds, and some other animals are protected. Lethal control or relocation can be illegal without permits.
