Advertising and monetization

Pest Kill may display third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, to support original directory content. Ads are labeled “Advertisement.” Content always occupies more of the page than ads.

How ads are placed

• Ads are not placed in pop-ups, emails, or software.
• Ads do not overlay navigation or trap users on a dead-end screen.
• We do not encourage anyone to click ads. Do not click your own ads.
• We do not modify AdSense code except as Google documents.
• Empty or under-construction pages will not carry ads.

Policies we follow

We design pages to comply with the Google Publisher Policies, Google’s spam policies for web search, and the Coalition for Better Ads standards. We do not publish sexually explicit content, dangerous-product instructions, or animal-cruelty entertainment.

Some pest, guide, and method pages include a short “field kit” of tools that match the control sequence on that page (snap traps, monitors, exclusion hardware, and a few labeled consumer products). Those pages show an Amazon teaser near the top, a compact buy list in the sidebar on pest and guide pages, and the full kit after the how-to. The kit is not a substitute for identification. The same catalog is listed at /shop/, with filters by type and job. Comparison pages at /best/ name a specific tool for a specific job — mouse traps, roach bait, encasements, exclusion hardware — and link to Amazon. Pest Kill does not warehouse or sell products directly. Picks are editorial matches, not paid placement and not laboratory scores.

When an Amazon Associates tracking ID is configured, kit and shop links include that tag and rel="nofollow sponsored noopener noreferrer". As an Amazon Associate, Pest Kill earns from qualifying purchases. The same disclosure appears next to the links. Field kits on species pages are meant to match the control sequence — snap traps, exclusion hardware, gel bait, monitors — not to sell gadgets the article argues against.

Ultrasonic plug-ins and total-release foggers remain in the catalog because people search for them. They are labeled as not recommended as control where the editorial pages say they fail. Glue boards carry a welfare and non-target caution. Any pesticide must be used only as the EPA label allows.

Authorized sellers are listed in /ads.txt. AdSense ad units are not served until cookie consent is given and ad slots are configured. The publisher ID in the page metadata is for account verification, not an empty ad box.
