Yellowjackets scavenge meat and soda in late summer and will defend a ground or wall nest with enthusiasm. A broom is an ER visit. Locate the entrance at dusk, keep people away, and use a labeled product at night — or hire a pro for voids. Fuzzy pollen-carrying bees are honey bees; call a beekeeper. How to identify Yellowjacket
- Bright yellow and black, relatively hairless vs honey bees.
- Gray paper nests underground, in play structures, or in walls.

- Mark the entrance and wait for night. Labeled jet into the opening from a safe distance, or a technician for walls. Never gasoline.
- Repair the void after the colony dies. Winter is for sealing. Sealing a live wall nest drives them inward.
