Ants
Why do ants come inside when it rains?
Rain floods shallow nests in lawns, pavement cracks, and mulch. Odorous house ant, Pavement ant, and Argentine ant follow scent trails into kitchens because the building is dry and there is a crumb. The rain did not create a new species. Follow the trail to the gap, wipe with soapy water, and use a labeled bait they will carry.
Do not spray the foragers only
Killing the visible line leaves the nest. Repellent sprays can split a trail and make more trails. A slow bait the species will eat is the indoor tool after sanitation.
