Does cinnamon kill ants?
Cinnamon powder is a kitchen spice, not a Odorous house ant program. They walk around it or wait you out. Same for baby powder and chalk lines. Clean the attractant, follow the trail, bait. If you want a pesticide, buy one labeled for indoor ants and use it only as the label says.
Fungus gnats are a different myth
Cinnamon on potting soil is also not a reliable Fungus gnat plan. Let the surface dry. See the species page.
