Brown marmorated stink bugs are invasive shield bugs that wreck some fruit crops and pour into siding gaps on the first cold nights. They smell when crushed. Indoor control is exclusion and vacuuming — soapy water, not a perfume of insecticide on every windowsill all winter. USDA and extension run agricultural IPM; homeowners should not invent orchard chemistry for a living room. They are not native stink bugs you may have grown up with; the white bands on the antennae help ID.
