Bed bugs and biting pests
Does bleach kill fleas?
Do not pour bleach on a dog, a carpet, or a lawn as flea control. It is not a labeled flea pesticide for those jobs, and it injures animals and materials. Cat flea control is host treatment plus premises vacuuming and labeled indoor products if needed. Mix bleach with ammonia and you have a different emergency.
Hard floors vs carpet
A damp mop on a hard floor removes some debris. That is sanitation, not a bleach ritual. Carpet needs vacuuming and, if an insecticide is used, a product labeled for indoor fleas. Read Pesticide safety and the EPA label.
