Why do I see cockroaches during the day?
German cockroaches are nocturnal. Daytime sightings, especially of nymphs on a counter, usually mean the population outgrew the hiding spots or you just disturbed a harborage. It is a density signal. It is not solved by a total-release fogger. Use gel bait in cracks, monitors, and a clean kitchen.
What not to do
Foggers scatter them into new rooms and miss the egg cases. HUD treats IPM in housing as a healthy-homes method, not a cosmetic spray. If someone in the home has asthma, cockroach allergen is the health issue — bait and sanitation beat perfume bombs.
